Michael Venn, one of the actors in several scenes in Crooked Lane, has started his own project: Dyslexic Psychic.  You can become a fan of Dyslexic Psychic on Facebook, and you can follow Michael on Twitter.

Continuing the collaborative nature of the film family here in NH, Michael has partnered with several other Crooked Lane alumni for his project. Marc Dole of Hatchling Studios (in charge of the film’s Visual Effects and Editing) has signed on as Producer.

The Crew Setting Up The Shot With Characters Bailey and Ava

Across the street where Bailey is sitting, the camera crew had to move everything to the other side of the street to set up the shot of Ava coming to talk to her.
Again we had to lock up the streets behind Ann Cusack because the scene was still supposed to be empty of people in the background.
Luckily the Portsmouth Police were there to assist along with our Production Assistants!   The tourists were so interested in the filmmaking process they were very cooperative as well.
Chase Bailey And Brian Meanly Work Out Visual Effects Shot
Director Chase Bailey is discussing this shot with Visual effects supervisor, Brian Meanly.
Several specific shots needed to be filmed in order to create the Visual effect of the hearse wiping the people off the streets in Post Production.
Greg and Allen Talk Secure Areas for Market Square Scene

Producer Greg “Smitty” Smith reviews with 2nd Assistant Director, Allan Rafael, the areas that are needed and how they can be secure in order create the scene in Market Square, Portsmouth.
It was important for the scene that there were absolutely no people in the shot other than the character “Bailey”. This was a challenge as it was a Friday afternoon on a gorgeous sunny day in July in downtown Portsmouth, the height of the tourist season!
