Brett Cullen, who played Ben in Crooked Lane, has been a busy guy since the film wrapped.
He just finished shooting Monte Carlo for 20th Century Fox with Andi MacDowell, Selena Gomez and Leighton Meester. It’s about three young women vacationing in Paris who find themselves whisked away to Monte Carlo after one of the girls is mistaken for a British heiress.
He’s currently shooting The Gates, which is a new summer TV series for ABC
He also filmed Puncture in Houston with Chris Evans. It’s a David and Goliath law drama about a drug-addicted lawyer who takes on a health supply corporation while battling his own personal demons.
And of course he has the remake of Red Dawn coming out in November for United Artists. A group of teenagers look to save their town from an invasion of Chinese and Russian soldiers.
We were hoping he’d weigh in on the last episode of Lost (Brett played Goodwin in the Lost television series), but unfortunately, mum’s the word for the past and current cast and crew on how things all get wrapped up!
Just a note that Chase Bailey, writer and director of Crooked Lane, often updates the Facebook pages for Crooked Lane and Left Bank Films directly.
He uses his iPhone so he can keep in touch with you even when he is on the go. For example, he is currently in Paris, but has been sharing news with folks while away.
If you don’t want to miss a moment of news from Chase, I highly recommend Liking the Facebook pages for Crooked Lane and Left Bank Films.
That gives you access to Chase, Leslie, Amy, Kit, Thomas and more. Enjoy!
Our own Chase Bailey (writer/director, Crooked Lane) produced the stage version of The Libertine with director Danica Carlson locally in Portsmouth, NH.
Reviews from attendees were excellent, with most dubbing it a must-see production. Of note: Chase was also involved in the film, The Libertine, as a producer.

Crooked Lane’s own Jessica Webb (who played Bev) has been active in a variety of local films and plays since Crooked Lane wrapped.
Earlier this year she was in Rainmaker, portraying the role of Lizzie Curry.
Currently, you can see her in the May production of Hamlet by the GAN-e-meed Theater Project, where she will play the part of Claudius.
She has also been in several local MA and NH short films, such as Dark Scribbles (formerly “Dyslexic Psychic”) by Michael Venn, currently making the festival submission rounds for 2010.
Marc Dole, daughters Alyssa and Ashley, Chase Bailey, and even myself (Leslie Poston) got in on the action for the filming of Deaf Perception recently. I’m on pins and needles to actually see the final cut! Meanwhile, here is the official description and a link to the trailer on Facebook for your enjoyment:
The official Trailer for Alyssa Dole’s film “Deaf Perception”
Starring Alyssa & Ashley Dole
Written by Alyssa Dole
Directed by Alyssa Dole and Chase Bailey
Produced by Karlina Lyons, Wanda & Marc Dole
Director of Photography Jonathon Millman
Gaffer Branden James Maxham
Edited by Marc Dole
Music by Chris Decato
Written, Directed and Starring Deaf 16 year old twin sisters, “Deaf Perception” tells the tale of some of the prejudice that they observe when they are in public. While the hearing patrons around them are captivated by their use of their hands to talk. A group of immature boys makes fun of the sisters, as the sisters discuss how closed minded people can be. But just as they sign this, they themselves see a new sign.
I had a chance to sit down briefly with writer/director Chase Bailey yesterday and talk about the feature film development of Crooked Lane. He has a lot of irons in the fire, but assures us the feature is coming along.
He mentioned that one of his regrets in how he cast the short came with the realization that he couldn’t re-use Ann Cusack in the feature (well, not without one of several cheesy or done-to-death plot elements, which he wants to avoid).
He’s deep in writing mode for the future of Crooked Lane, and will be publishing status updates to the Facebook fan page in the coming months as things progress. He’s also considering a bit of video blogging to keep you updated. Stay tuned!
Actress Adrienne Montezinos has been very busy since playing Dr. Leder in “Crooked Lane”!
Adrienne played The Woman, one of the lead characters in a short film called, “The Madman’s Garden”, written and produced by Brandon Hutchinson and Directed by Phil Darius Wallace. Brandon took his inspiration from the poetry of Khalil Gibran to create a story about a world where clothes have just been invented.
She helped write and played the title character in the comic short film “The Marriage Counselor”, written and directed by Steve Day of Caldera Productions.
Adrienne played Liz, the main character’s wife in “Workaholics Anonymous,” another short film Directed by Rob Bartolome of RAB Studios in New Bedford, MA.
In addition to appearing in commercials for Concord Group Insurance and WB Mason, Adrienne is working on “Paradigm”, a tv pilot written by Amherst, NH co-creators Deborah Whitaker and Justin Scarelli and Directed by Justin Scarelli in which she plays lead character Christine, older sister to former astronaut Rachel, who has allegedly stopped aging.
She has been cast in the short comedy, “One Stop Holiday,’ by writer Anthony Cogliandro, directed by Ryan Davis also in Pre-Production.
Adrienne will be playing Bianca Sorrento in Pietro D’Alessio’s series Proper Manors, for which she was also the Casting Director. She just held callbacks with Co-Casting Director Pietro D’Alessio in Portsmouth, NH for the short film “The Techsorcist”, by writers Mike Walsh and Dave Langley, who will also direct.
As a model, she appeared in the print campaigns for KoKo Fitness and Carnival Cruise.
This was a quick grab using my phone of the first half of the Q&A session during Shorts in Ports night at The Music Hall in Portsmouth, NH. Chase Bailey, writer and director for Crooked Lane, curated 6 fabulous, award winning films (including Crooked Lane, The Continuing and Lamentable Saga of the Suicide Brothers, The Toll, Sniffer, West Bank Story, and Ana’s Playground) and several of the directors and producers were on hand to answer questions.
The Mayor of Portsmouth appointed Chase Bailey, owner of Left Bank Films and writer/director of Crooked Lane, to the local board of Portsmouth Public Media, in charge of public access media in the area.
Congratulations, Chase!
