The Dole’s Keep it in the Family

Marc Dole, who handled VFX and Editing for Crooked Lane, and Chase Bailey are working on Marc’s daughters Alyssa and Ashley’s short film Deaf Perception together. Marc and Chase have also managed to get 52 other locals involved, many of whom are familiar cast and crew from Crooked Lane as well, making this both a family and a film family production.

There was a brief write up of the film in Seacoast Online, and you can follow the film’s Facebook page to see how the project develops.

Michael Venn Does Dyslexic Psychic

Michael Venn, one of the actors in several scenes in Crooked Lane, has started his own project: Dyslexic Psychic.  You can become a fan of Dyslexic Psychic on Facebook, and you can follow Michael on Twitter.

Continuing the collaborative nature of the film family here in NH, Michael has partnered with several other Crooked Lane alumni for his project. Marc Dole of Hatchling Studios (in charge of the film’s Visual Effects and Editing) has signed on as Producer.

Jessica Webb, who played “Bev” in Crooked Lane, has signed on as a member of the cast.

We’re excited to follow Michael’s progress in this dark comedy about a gifted psychic who misinterprets her clients readings.

Director Chase Bailey working out the scene where a hearse drives through the scene and appears to “wipe” all the people off the street except for Bailey. This is one of the scenes that requires Visual Effects in Post Production.

Film Report: Edit Phase

DSCN2441 I had a chance to meet with Marc Dole from Hatchling Studios yesterday to talk with him about the editing process for Crooked Lane. I found out that the editing process first pass is done, and they are moving on to scoring the film now with Eugene McDaniels. That’s fantastic news, as it means the film will be ready to submit to festivals soon.

Don’t miss the NH debut of this film at the NH Film Festival. There will be an after party, and we will be inviting some of you. Keep an eye on our Facebook page and our Twitter for details on how you can get a chance to meet the cast and crew! If you haven’t joined the Facebook page yet, just click this link. And do pass it on to your friends so that more people have a chance to get involved in this process.
